Can the Atlanta Hawks Maintain Momentum After Edging Out Memphis Grizzlies?

The Atlanta Hawks, with a record of 29-34, secured a hard-fought victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, who now stand at 22-42. The final score read 99-92 in favor of the visiting team at FedExForum.

The Hawks showed resilience on the court, overcoming an initial deficit to lead for over 23 minutes of game time and achieving their largest advantage of 12 points. Their offensive efforts were bolstered by sinking 15 out of 35 three-point attempts, translating to a commendable three-point percentage of 43. The team's overall field goal percentage stood at an effective rate of 42 percent from a total of 87 attempts.


Defensively, the Hawks managed to block five shots and recorded nine steals throughout the game. They also dominated rebounds with a total count of 58 compared to the Grizzlies' tally of 49. Of these rebounds, an impressive number were on the offensive glass – contributing to second-chance points that often prove crucial in tight contests.

Atlanta's bench contributed significantly as well with a solid output totaling at least one-fifth (21 points) towards their final score. Moreover, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring fifteen points off them while maintaining their own turnovers relatively low at sixteen.


On individual performance metrics, no single player was ejected or fouled out from either side which indicates disciplined gameplay under pressure. The efficiency game score for both teams ended up identical at approximately seventy-six but it was Atlanta's ability to maintain higher possession numbers (94.6) that might have tipped scales in their favor against Memphis' possessions (90.2).
