Hawks Clinch Nail-Biter Against Celtics: Was the Home Court Advantage Decisive?

In a closely contested battle at State Farm Arena, the Atlanta Hawks edged out the Boston Celtics with a final score of 120-118. The Hawks' season record now stands at 32-39, while the Celtics hold a formidable 57-15 record.

The game was an offensive showcase, with both teams putting up impressive numbers. The Hawks demonstrated their scoring ability by shooting an efficient 53 percent from the field and an outstanding 50 percent from beyond the arc. Their long-range prowess was on full display as they sank 18 three-pointers out of 36 attempts. The team's overall offensive rating soared to 129.757785467128, slightly higher than their defensive rating of 117.57672379434.


Atlanta's playmaking was also a highlight of the evening as they racked up an impressive total of 30 assists, showcasing their ability to share and move the ball effectively across all quarters. This teamwork contributed significantly to their narrow victory over Boston.

Despite trailing for most of the game with only about four minutes in lead time compared to Boston's dominant presence leading for over forty-one minutes, Atlanta managed to secure key plays when it mattered most. They capitalized on turnovers by scoring twenty points off them and were able to draw sixteen fouls which led to seventeen free throw attempts.


On defense, although not as dominant in blocking shots with only three blocks compared to Boston's eight, Atlanta still managed to disrupt some plays and recorded five steals throughout the contest.

The bench also played its part by contributing twenty-five points towards this crucial win that saw both teams tied three times and seven lead changes before reaching its climax at State Farm Arena in front of a crowd of seventeen thousand four hundred five fans.
