Can the Brooklyn Nets Surge Past the Pelicans at Smoothie King Center?

As the Brooklyn Nets prepare to face off against the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center, fans are eager to see if their team can turn around a challenging season. The Nets, with a recent record of 16 wins and 21 losses, have been struggling to find consistency on both ends of the court.

In their last matchup against Milwaukee Bucks at home, despite scoring an impressive 122 points, they couldn't contain their opponents who put up a staggering 144 points. The defensive end seemed particularly problematic as they allowed a high offensive rating of 142.4 to the Bucks while only managing an offensive rating of 115.3 themselves.

The trend continued in their game against Oklahoma City Thunder where they scored 108 but conceded 124 points. Their field goal percentage was just under forty percent and three-point shooting was at twenty-six percent – numbers that will need improvement if they're aiming for victory in upcoming games.

However, there were positives from these performances too; notably, bench contributions have been strong with seventy-nine and thirty-seven points coming from non-starters in recent games respectively. Additionally, their assist-to-turnover ratio has remained above three which indicates good ball movement and decision-making when in possession.

The venue could play a role as well; playing away might add pressure but also offers an opportunity for the team to bond over adversity and come out stronger together. With this game being broadcasted on YES network for away fans, it's crucial that Brooklyn showcases its resilience and ability to bounce back after tough outings.

As we look forward to January third's clash set for one o'clock Eastern Time at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center, it's clear that defense will be key for Brooklyn Nets if they wish to secure a win on foreign territory. Fans can catch all action live on YES network channel six hundred thirty-one or BSNO channel six hundred seventy-six dash four depending on their location.
