Analyzing past games reveals a mixed bag for the Nets. In their last three outings, they've experienced both highs and lows. Against the Pacers, despite scoring an impressive 111 points with a solid field goal percentage of 47 percent and bench contributing a hefty 51 points, defensive woes were evident as they allowed 133 points in return. This was reflected in their defensive rating of approximately 125 – far from ideal.

The encounter with the Lakers saw them fall short again with only 104 points scored against Los Angeles' robust defense that held them to a field goal percentage of just 42 percent. However, it's worth noting that they managed to force turnovers effectively – racking up an impressive total of twelve steals.

On a brighter note, when facing off against the Bulls at home, Brooklyn showcased what they're capable of by putting up an emphatic performance with an offensive rating over 130 and sinking an astonishing 57 percent from beyond the arc which contributed significantly to their commanding victory.

The key takeaway is inconsistency; while there's potential in offense highlighted by moments of brilliance from deep range shooting and bench scoring potency, it's clear that tightening up defensively will be crucial against Toronto.

As we look ahead to this matchup at Barclays Center – where home-court advantage has proven beneficial as seen in their triumph over Chicago – fans should expect Brooklyn to capitalize on its offensive strengths while addressing defensive shortcomings. With playoff implications on every game this late in the season, each possession counts more than ever.
