Can the Charlotte Hornets Outshine the Phoenix Suns at Footprint Center?

As the Charlotte Hornets prepare to face off against the Phoenix Suns at Footprint Center, fans are eager to see if their team can turn around a challenging season. The Hornets' recent performance has been less than stellar, with a record of 8 wins and 27 losses. However, basketball is a game of unpredictability and on any given night, fortunes can change.

In their last outing on December 29th against the Los Angeles Lakers, despite scoring an impressive 112 points, defense was a major issue for Charlotte as they allowed 133 points. The Hornets showed they could score in bursts with quarters of 31 and 32 points but struggled defensively throughout the game. They managed to draw fouls effectively with 21 fouls drawn but were outmatched by the Lakers' offensive onslaught.

Two days prior on December 27th against another Los Angeles team, the Clippers, CHA put up a respectable fight but again fell short by nine points. Their ability to assist was notable with an assist turnover ratio of nearly three assists for every turnover committed. Despite this efficiency in ball movement and scoring over half their attempts from inside paint (58 percent), it wasn't enough to secure victory.

The upcoming matchup doesn't get any easier as they take on PHX away from home soil. The Suns have been formidable opponents this season and will look to capitalize on CHA's defensive vulnerabilities. For CHA to stand a chance at Footprint Center, they must tighten up defensively while maintaining their offensive production – particularly from fast breaks where they've shown efficiency (75 percent against LAL).

The key for CHA lies in controlling possession and maximizing opportunities created through turnovers – areas where they've demonstrated competence previously by scoring double-digit figures off turnovers in past games.

Fans should keep an eye out for how well CHA manages these aspects while also hoping that players who contribute significantly off the bench can step up once more; bench contributions have been vital in keeping games competitive for them.

The scheduled date for this encounter is December 29th at Footprint Center starting at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (ET). Fans looking forward to catching all action live can tune into BSSE channel number 649 or follow along via AZFamily network if located within home broadcast regions.
