In an intense matchup that saw 18 lead changes and was tied 10 times, the Charlotte Hornets displayed resilience but ultimately fell short to the Miami Heat. The home team capitalized on their opportunities in the final quarter, outscoring the visitors by six points to secure their win. Despite this setback, there were several notable performances from the Hornets' roster.

The bench contributed significantly to Charlotte's efforts, providing 45 points to keep them competitive throughout. A highlight for Charlotte was their efficiency from beyond the arc during fast breaks where they converted five out of eleven attempts into points. Their tenacity in second-chance plays was evident as they scored 17 points from such opportunities.

Defensively, Charlotte managed to block four shots and came away with ten steals over four quarters of play. They also drew more fouls than Miami which resulted in them attempting six more free throws; they made good on these chances by sinking 27 out of 33 attempts for an impressive free throw percentage of roughly 82 percent.

On offense, despite shooting only about 39 percent from field goal range and struggling behind the three-point line with just a little over one-quarter of their shots finding net, they still found ways to score inside painting up a total of forty-two points in that area.

However, it wasn't enough as Miami's bench exploded for an outstanding performance contributing sixty-eight points towards their victory. The Heat also edged out defensively blocking six shots and matching Charlotte's steal count at ten apiece while maintaining higher assist numbers (23) compared to nineteen assists dished out by Hornets players.

As fans look forward to what is next for their team after this closely contested game against formidable opponents like Miami Heat who showed why they are one of Eastern Conference's tough teams; attention turns towards upcoming fixtures where improvements can be made both offensively and defensively for better outcomes ahead.

The next challenge awaiting Charlotte will be against Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena located in Washington D.C., USA on October twelve at seven o'clock PM Eastern Time Zone (ET).
