Charlotte Hornets Outlast Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena

In a closely contested battle at the Capital One Arena, the Charlotte Hornets edged out the Washington Wizards with a final score of 124-117. The Hornets improved their season record to 3-5, while the Wizards fell to 2-6.

The game was marked by several lead changes and a single tie, indicating how competitive the matchup was. The Hornets showed remarkable resilience and offensive capability throughout the game. Rebounding played a crucial role for Charlotte as they grabbed seventy-nine rebounds - sixty-seven personal rebounds along with twelve team rebounds - which included twenty-eight offensive boards giving them multiple scoring chances on several possessions.


On offense, despite shooting only twenty-one percent from beyond the arc making six out of twenty-eight attempts, they made up for it through sheer volume elsewhere – hitting fifty field goals out of one hundred ten attempts overall (forty-five percent). From free throws line though they struggled slightly making eighteen out of twenty-eight attempted free throws which is sixty-four percent success rate.


As for Washington Wizards' performance against Charlotte Hornets', despite having less time leading during this contest – forty-one minutes compared to just under five minutes for Charlotte – they had moments where their play shone through such as when they built up their biggest lead at sixteen points or when shooting nearly fifty-nine percent from two-point range making twenty-nine baskets off fifty attempts.


Washington also excelled at three-point shooting hitting fourteen threes at thirty-seven percent accuracy rate but ultimately couldn't keep pace with relentless pressure applied by opponents especially during last quarter where they could only muster twenty points compared to thirty-six by visitors sealing fate for home side who now sit two games behind rivals after this result.
