The home team, Charlotte Hornets, displayed resilience throughout the match. Despite trailing in points for most of the game and having led for only four minutes and twenty seconds, they managed to keep their fans on edge with an impressive third-quarter performance where they scored 37 points. The Hornets' offensive efforts were highlighted by their ability to capitalize on turnovers, scoring 19 points off their opponents' mistakes.

Charlotte's players showed tenacity under pressure as they drew fouls leading to 21 free throw attempts and making 16 of them at a rate of about 76 percent. As both teams fought hard on court evidenced by eight times tied and seven lead changes - it was ultimately New Orleans who maintained composure securing this win through efficient shooting and solid defensive plays resulting in five blocks against Charlotte's offense.
