The Charlotte Hornets entered Frost Bank Center hoping to improve their season but were met with formidable opposition from the San Antonio Spurs. Despite showing moments of promise, including a brief lead by two points and leading time totaling only eighteen seconds, they could not sustain momentum against their hosts. The team's efficiency rating stood at eighty-nine compared to an impressive one hundred sixty-five from the Spurs.

Charlotte's performance was highlighted by their free throw accuracy which was an outstanding eighty-nine percent as they made twenty-five out of twenty-eight attempts. However, this proficiency from the line was overshadowed by struggles in other areas; they shot just thirty-six percent from field goals and twenty-nine percent for three-pointers.

Defensively, Charlotte managed eleven steals and blocked three shots but ultimately gave up fifty-two points in paint to San Antonio's offense that seemed unstoppable on their home court. The defensive efforts were not enough as they allowed one hundred thirty-five points against them while posting a negative thirty-six plus/minus for minutes played.

Offensively for Charlotte, ball movement resulted in twenty-two assists but was marred by twenty turnovers which translated into just seven points off those turnovers. Their bench contributed twenty-eight points but paled in comparison to San Antonio’s bench who amassed an impressive sixty-nine points.

Looking ahead after this tough outing on Texas soil, fans can catch the next game featuring their beloved Hornets as they visit Miami Heat at Kaseya Center on January 14th at 6:00 PM Eastern Time. This game will be broadcasted on BSSE channel six hundred forty-nine for away fans wanting to follow every play live as it unfolds.
