At Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, fans witnessed an intense battle where lead changes occurred 22 times and the game was tied on 14 different occasions. The Hornets showcased their offensive skills by putting up an impressive third quarter with 40 points but couldn't maintain that momentum in the fourth quarter, adding only 14 points to their total. Despite this setback, they managed to achieve a field goal percentage of 44 and were successful on 40 percent of their three-point attempts.

The Hornets' performance was bolstered by significant contributions across various aspects of play. They recorded five blocks and matched that number in steals while distributing the ball effectively for a total of 27 assists. Their efforts from beyond the arc resulted in fifteen three-pointers made out of thirty-eight attempts. From inside the paint, they managed to score forty points.

Rebounding was another area where Charlotte showed strength; pulling down fifty-two rebounds with nine coming from offensive plays which led to ten second-chance points. The free throw line also saw efficient scoring from Charlotte as they hit seventy-nine percent of their nineteen attempts.

However, turnovers proved costly for Charlotte as both teams lost possession eleven times each but Detroit capitalized more effectively on these opportunities. Additionally, despite matching Detroit's fast break point tally at thirteen each and having an identical number of fast break attempts (eight for Charlotte and nine for Detroit), it wasn't enough to secure victory.
