The game at Spectrum Center saw an explosive start from the visiting team, as they put up an impressive 47 points in the first quarter alone. The Hornets trailed with 24 points and struggled to close this early gap throughout the contest. Despite a valiant effort in the third quarter where they scored 41 points, their highest in any quarter during this match-up, it was not enough to overcome Utah's consistent scoring.

The Charlotte Hornets showcased resilience and offensive capability by amassing a total of 122 points against a formidable opponent. Their bench contributed significantly with 54 bench points and they excelled on fast breaks, converting them into 28 fast break points with an efficiency of 71 percent from such attempts. The team also demonstrated strong ball movement resulting in an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.5.

On defense, however, challenges persisted for the home team as they allowed Utah to score heavily from inside the paint; Utah tallied up to 70 paint points at a staggering success rate of approximately three-quarters of their attempts. Moreover, despite both teams recording six blocks each and Charlotte managing one more steal than Utah's six steals, defensive efforts were overshadowed by Utah's sharpshooting which boasted a field goal percentage of approximately two-thirds.

Utah Jazz displayed remarkable teamwork with their distribution leading to an outstanding total of thirty-eight assists across all players involved. They also capitalized on second-chance opportunities by scoring seventeen second-chance points off twelve attempts.

Looking ahead for fans eager to support their team through thick and thin: The Charlotte Hornets will next face off against New York Knicks on January 29th at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. This upcoming game is scheduled for a tip-off time at seven o'clock PM Eastern Time and will be broadcasted locally on BSSE channel number six hundred forty-nine or can be viewed on MSG channel number six hundred thirty-four for those following from away territories.
