The Hornets entered the Paycom Center hoping to improve their season but were met with resistance from a formidable Thunder team. Throughout the game, Charlotte demonstrated moments of competitive play but struggled to maintain consistency against Oklahoma City's offense. The Hornets managed to accumulate 106 points over four quarters, scoring 19 in the first quarter and gradually increasing their output each quarter thereafter with 23, 30, and finally peaking at 34 points in the fourth.

Despite their efforts on offense, which included making half of their attempts from inside the paint and shooting an impressive 45 percent from beyond the arc for a total of fourteen three-pointers made, they could not contain Oklahoma City's dynamic scoring. The home team shot an efficient 59 percent from field goal range and an even more impressive effective field goal percentage of seventy percent.

Charlotte's players showed tenacity on defense as well; they recorded twelve steals and four blocks during the game. However, this defensive effort was overshadowed by twenty-one personal fouls committed and fourteen turnovers that led to twenty-two points for Oklahoma City. On offense, Charlotte had fifty points in paint out of fifty-two attempts but was unable to capitalize on fast break opportunities as effectively as they would have liked despite having ten attempts.

The bench contributed significantly for Charlotte with thirty-nine bench points while also drawing seventeen fouls throughout playtime. In terms of rebounds, Charlotte secured forty-two total rebounds including seven offensive boards which led to eleven second-chance points.

Looking ahead after this tough loss at Paycom Center where seventeen thousand five hundred fifty-two fans witnessed their team's struggle against one of this season’s top teams; fans can look forward to seeing if their team can regroup back home at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. The upcoming game is scheduled for February fourth at six o'clock PM Eastern Time against Indiana Pacers where it will be broadcasted locally on BSSE channel six hundred forty-nine for those watching within home territory or BSIN channel six hundred seventy-one dash four for away viewers.
