In their last encounter with the Denver Nuggets, despite a loss of 95-102, the Hornets showed resilience. They led for over 18 minutes and outscored their opponents in bench points by a significant margin. However, turnovers were an issue as they gave up possession 18 times.

The game before that saw the Hornets put up an impressive offensive display against Indiana Pacers scoring 113 points but ultimately falling short defensively as they allowed a staggering 144 points. Their field goal percentage stood at a solid 47 percent and they managed to convert nearly three-quarters of their free throws.

Traveling to Toronto didn't change fortunes either; while managing to score almost half of their attempts from inside the paint and maintaining perfect free throw accuracy, defensive lapses led to another defeat with a scoreline of 99-114 against the Raptors.

These past performances indicate that while Charlotte can be potent offensively – especially from close range – defense remains an Achilles' heel. The team's ability to minimize turnovers and tighten up defensively could be key factors in securing more wins moving forward.
