In their last game against the Detroit Pistons, the Hornets fell short with a final score of 97-114. Their performance was hindered by a field goal percentage of just 39 percent and a three-point shooting rate of only 32 percent. However, they did manage to secure half of their points in paint attempts and showed promise with an assists turnover ratio of 2.25.

The previous home game against the Brooklyn Nets saw better fortunes for Charlotte as they clinched a victory with a scoreline of 110-99. The team's field goal percentage rose significantly to an impressive 54 percent, coupled with an effective fast break strategy that resulted in scoring on over ninety percent of attempts.

However, consistency remains an issue for Charlotte as evidenced by another loss to the Washington Wizards where they scored exactly one hundred points but allowed one hundred twelve against them. Despite outperforming Washington in second-chance points and maintaining a solid offensive rebound presence, defensive lapses proved costly.

Looking ahead to the upcoming game at State Farm Arena, it is crucial for Charlotte to capitalize on their strengths while shoring up defensive efforts if they hope to overcome Atlanta's challenge.
