The Charlotte Hornets' season record fell to 19-60 after a challenging game against the Dallas Mavericks, who improved their record to 49-30 with a final score of 130-104. The Spectrum Center witnessed the home team's struggle as they were outscored in three of the four quarters.

The Hornets started off on a slower pace, trailing by 18 points at the end of the first quarter and never quite recovered from that early deficit. Despite an impressive third quarter where they put up 36 points, their highest in any quarter during this matchup, it wasn't enough to close the gap created by the Mavericks' consistent scoring across all quarters.

Dallas showcased a strong offensive performance with an effective field goal percentage of 63 and converting on an impressive 77 percent from two-point range. Their dominance was further highlighted by their largest lead of 27 points and maintaining control for over three-quarters of game time. The Mavericks also capitalized on turnovers, scoring 18 points off turnovers compared to the Hornets' less impactful tally of just twelve.

On defense, Dallas blocked seven shots while Charlotte managed only three blocks throughout the contest. The rebounding battle was also won by Dallas with a total rebound count of sixty-one against Charlotte's forty-four.

For Charlotte fans looking for positives in individual performances, there were some noteworthy efforts despite the loss. The team shot well from free throw line with a solid percentage of seventy-six and showed resilience drawing nineteen fouls leading to those free throw opportunities. Additionally, they managed eight steals over Dallas' six and scored thirteen fast break points thanks to converting fifty-seven percent of fast break attempts.

However, these efforts were overshadowed by Dallas’ more efficient shooting night which included making seventeen out of fifty attempts from beyond the arc compared to Charlotte’s ten made threes out of thirty-two attempts.

Looking ahead after this tough defeat at home, fans can catch their next chance for redemption as "the" Charlotte Hornets will face "the" Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on April 10th at 7:30 PM Eastern Time. This upcoming game will be broadcasted live on BSSE networks for supporters eager to see how "the" Hornets will perform in their next outing.
