On defense, Grant Williams made his presence felt by blocking two shots and stealing once which contributed to keeping some of New York's scoring in check. However, despite these individual performances and leading in fast break points (12), second chance points (16), and bench contributions (41), it wasn't enough to overcome the Knicks.


New York Knicks' Response


The New York Knicks demonstrated why they are formidable opponents on their home court. They outrebounded the Hornets with a total of 66 rebounds and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 17 points off them. Their bench matched up well against Charlotte's reserves contributing an almost equal amount of bench points (42).

Julius Randle played an instrumental role for his team not just in scoring but also facilitating play which is evident from their higher assist count (28). The team's ability to convert second chance opportunities into scores was crucial; they managed nine successful attempts out of eighteen second chance shots resulting in twenty-one additional points.
