Charlotte Hornets Show Grit but Fall Short Against Trail Blazers

Key Performances on Both Sides


The Hornets saw commendable efforts from several players. Josh Green led with an impressive performance, scoring 14 points on a highly efficient shooting night that included hitting 60 percent from inside and making all his free throw attempts. Nick Smith Jr. topped the scoring for Charlotte with 17 points alongside five assists and two blocks, showcasing his all-around game despite struggling from beyond the arc. Josh Okogie contributed significantly as well, notching a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds while adding three steals to his stat line.


On the opposing side, The Trail Blazers capitalized on their fast break opportunities, scoring 21 fast break points compared to just eight by Charlotte. Their ability to draw fouls was also notable; they attempted eleven more free throws than The Hornets. Despite shooting only forty percent from field goal range and twenty-nine percent from three-point territory, Portland's defensive efforts led them to block six shots and steal twelve times.
