Charlotte Hornets Fall to Oklahoma City Thunder as Knueppel Shines in North Charleston Coliseum

First Quarter

The Charlotte Hornets faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder at the North Charleston Coliseum, with both teams entering this preseason matchup eager to test their rosters. The game began with the Thunder taking an early lead, scoring 36 points in the first quarter compared to Buzz City's 26. Despite a strong effort from Kon Knueppel, who contributed significantly throughout the game, the Hornets struggled to keep pace with OKC's offensive momentum.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Charlotte attempted to close the gap by adding 31 points. However, OKC maintained their lead by scoring another 34 points. Ryan Kalkbrenner made his presence felt for Buzz City with solid defensive plays and contributing on offense with rebounds and blocks. The Hornets' bench also provided a spark, outscoring OKC's reserves but still trailed behind as they headed into halftime.

Third Quarter

The third quarter saw a continued effort from Charlotte as they matched their second-quarter output of 31 points. Kon Knueppel remained a key player for Buzz City, showcasing his versatility on both ends of the court. Despite these efforts, what went wrong for Charlotte Hornets was their inability to contain OKC's dynamic offense led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Josh Giddey.

Fourth Quarter

Heading into the final period of play, it was clear that defense would be crucial if Buzz City hoped to mount a comeback against OKC's relentless attack. Unfortunately for Charlotte fans, despite another valiant effort resulting in 26 additional points scored during this frame alone - including contributions from Tre Mann - it wasn't enough against an equally determined opponent who secured victory through consistent scoring across all quarters.

The game's turning point came when Oklahoma City's defense intensified midway through this last segment; effectively stifling any potential rally attempts initiated by Coach Clifford’s squad while capitalizing offensively themselves en route towards securing victory over visiting opponents at home turf here today!
