Hornets' Effort Falls Short as Cavs Dominate in Fourth Quarter

First Quarter

The Charlotte Hornets faced off against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Spectrum Center, with both teams looking to improve their records. The Hornets entered the game with a 26-31 record, while the Cavaliers boasted a 36-21 standing. The first quarter saw the Cavs take an early lead, scoring 30 points compared to Buzz City's 20. Despite LaMelo Ball's efforts to orchestrate plays and keep his team competitive, Cleveland's efficient shooting set them apart.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Charlotte rallied back with a strong offensive push, putting up 33 points against Cleveland's 29. Kon Knueppel was instrumental during this period, contributing significantly on both ends of the court. His ability to find open teammates and score efficiently helped narrow the gap before halftime.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was marked by intense back-and-forth action as both teams exchanged leads multiple times. Ryan Kalkbrenner stood out for Buzz City with his defensive presence and rebounding prowess, securing crucial boards that kept Charlotte within striking distance. However, despite their best efforts and outscoring Cleveland by five points in this period (36-31), they couldn't maintain consistent momentum.

Fourth Quarter

As the final quarter unfolded, it became evident that what went wrong for Charlotte Hornets was their inability to contain Cleveland's offense down the stretch. The Cavs capitalized on turnovers and executed well-timed plays that ultimately sealed their victory with a final score of 118-113 in favor of Wine and Gold.

The game featured several key moments where defensive lapses allowed Cleveland easy baskets inside; these were pivotal in determining its outcome according to many fans' reactions post-game - known collectively as "Charlotte Hornets final whistle reaction."
