Cavaliers Command Capital One Arena, Outplay Wizards in Washington

The Cleveland Cavaliers improved their season record to 37-19 after a decisive victory over the Washington Wizards, who now stand at 9-48. The final score read 114-105 in favor of the visiting team.

In a display of offensive efficiency, the Cavaliers led for over half the game with a time leading of approximately 27 minutes. Their largest lead was a solid 12 points. The team's scoring was consistent throughout, posting quarters of 27, 28, and another pair of 27 points each. This performance was bolstered by an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.5 and an overall team efficiency rating that reached an outstanding figure of 154.


The Cavaliers' offense shone brightly with their field goal percentage settling at an effective rate of 51 percent from the field and converting on two-thirds of their attempts inside the paint for a total paint score contribution of sixty points. They also capitalized on fast-break opportunities by scoring nineteen points from such plays.

Defensively, Cleveland held its ground as well with six blocks and six steals contributing to their efforts to contain the Wizards' offense. The defensive prowess was further highlighted by limiting Washington to just forty-four percent shooting from the field.


On individual performances, it's worth noting that bench players played a significant role in this game for Cleveland as they contributed thirty-five bench points to help secure this win on foreign territory.

While both teams had equal steals at six apiece, it was clear that Cleveland managed to outperform Washington in several key areas including rebounds where they dominated with fifty-six compared to forty-seven by their opponents.


The Wizards did show resilience despite trailing behind; they led for nearly nineteen minutes during which they managed their biggest lead at ten points and even outscored Cleveland in fast-break percentages with eighty-three percent effectiveness resulting in twenty-six fast-break points.
