In a game that saw eight ties and fifteen lead changes, the Dallas Mavericks showcased resilience and competitive spirit. The home team's bench contributed significantly with 47 points to the effort. Despite trailing behind in fast break points with only eight compared to the Nuggets' fourteen, the Mavericks managed to keep pace throughout the game.

The Dallas squad was efficient from beyond the arc, sinking fifteen three-pointers at a rate of thirty-six percent. They also excelled inside, scoring thirty-four points in paint and converting fifty-six percent of their two-point attempts. The team's overall field goal percentage stood at forty-five percent.

On defense, however, they blocked fewer shots than their opponents—three compared to five—and recorded fewer steals with five against ten by Denver. This defensive disparity might have played a role in their narrow defeat.

The Nuggets were led by their bench scoring an impressive fifty-one points and maintained control for over half an hour of gameplay time. Their biggest lead was ten points which proved crucial down the stretch as they edged out victory despite being out-assisted by Dallas twenty-four to twenty-two.
