The American Airlines Center roared to life as the Dallas Mavericks showcased an offensive clinic against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans. The home team's scoring was consistent throughout, dropping 33 points in both the first and third quarters, and replicating that output in the final period to seal their victory. Their offensive might was on full display as they shot an impressive 46 percent from field goals and an even more remarkable 42 percent from beyond the arc, converting 18 three-pointers.

Dallas' defensive efforts were equally noteworthy; they tallied six blocks and four steals over the course of action. The team's rebounding efforts were strong with a total of 50 rebounds—13 offensive and 37 defensive—which played a crucial role in maintaining possession and creating second-chance opportunities that yielded them 17 points.

The bench contributed significantly as well, adding 19 points to support their starters' onslaught. In terms of efficiency on court, Dallas outperformed New Orleans with an efficiency rating of 133 compared to New Orleans' respectable but lower rating of 123.

On the other side, despite being outpaced overall, New Orleans put up a formidable fight. They had nine steals which contributed to Dallas turning over possession twelve times throughout playtime. Their most significant run saw them leading by ten points at one stage during playtime; however, it wasn't enough against Dallas’ persistent scoring drives.

New Orleans also excelled inside by scoring sixty points in paint but fell short defensively allowing thirty-four paint points against them. They led for nearly twenty-two minutes but couldn't hold off Dallas who controlled almost twenty minutes themselves.
