On defense, Dallas managed to block five shots but couldn't contain Detroit's offensive maneuvers in key areas of play. The Pistons capitalized on fast breaks scoring sixteen points at forty-six percent efficiency and dominated inside by putting up fifty points in paint.

Detroit's shooting accuracy also played a pivotal role in their victory; they achieved fifty-nine percent from two-point range and forty-eight percent overall field goal percentage compared to Dallas' fifty-two percent and forty-three percent respectively. Additionally, while both teams shot similarly from beyond the arc – eight three-pointers each – it was Detroit's superior free throw shooting (seventy-eight percent) that helped cement their win over Dallas' seventy-five percent.
