Can Dallas Mavericks' Late Surge Overturn Timberwolves' Lead in Game 4?

In a closely contested Game 4 of the Post-season at the American Airlines Center, the Dallas Mavericks faced off against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The home team, with a record of 50-32, fell short against the visitors, who improved their season to 56-26. The final score read 105-100 in favor of the Timberwolves.

The game was marked by intense competition and significant moments that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The Mavericks showcased resilience and strategic gameplay throughout all four quarters. They scored 20 points in the first quarter and gradually increased their output to finish with 27 points in the fourth quarter. Despite their efforts, they were unable to close down on Minnesota's early lead.


The Timberwolves demonstrated strong offensive tactics right from the start, managing to put up 27 points in both the first and last quarters. Their performance peaked during the third quarter when they scored an impressive 29 points, which played a crucial role in securing their victory.

Dallas's strategy included a heavy reliance on three-point attempts, making 14 out of 40 shots from beyond the arc which translated into a three-point shooting percentage of about 35 percent. Additionally, they excelled at free throws with an accuracy rate of approximately 86 percent by making 18 out of their total attempts.


On defense, both teams were evenly matched with each recording four blocks and maintaining close defensive rebounds numbers; however, it was Dallas's ability to capitalize on turnovers that stood out as they managed to score an impressive total of thirty points off turnovers compared to Minnesota’s fifteen.

Key players for Dallas made significant contributions across various aspects of play but ultimately could not overcome Minnesota’s balanced attack led by efficient field goal shooting at approximately fifty-three percent overall including fifty-six percent from two-point range and forty-six percent from beyond three-point range.
