The game unfolded at TD Garden in Boston, where both teams demonstrated their playoff readiness. The Mavericks started with an energy that saw them scoring 18 points in the first quarter but were outmatched by the Celtics' aggressive 28 points. As the game progressed into the second quarter, Dallas attempted to close the gap with an additional 28 points; however, Boston's formidable offense answered back with 39 points.


Dallas's performance showcased moments of brilliance but was overshadowed by challenges on both ends of the court. They managed to block four shots and steal four times from their opponents but were hindered by a -18 plus-minus efficiency rating indicating struggles in maintaining possession and capitalizing on scoring opportunities. Despite these efforts, they could not overcome Boston's dominance throughout each quarter.

Notably for Dallas was their field goal percentage at 45 percent from an attempt of 78 shots and making eleven three-pointers out of thirty-seven attempts which translated into a three-point shooting percentage of thirty percent. Their effort from beyond the arc did not match up well against Boston’s more balanced offensive attack.


The Celtics displayed superior teamwork and execution with twenty-five assists leading to many high-percentage shots which contributed significantly to their win. Their defensive prowess was evident as they amassed nine steals and limited Dallas’s fast-break opportunities effectively.
