The home team Nuggets started strong, outscoring their opponents in the first quarter and maintaining a significant lead for most of the game. The largest gap between the two teams was an impressive 18 points in favor of Denver. However, as the game progressed into its later stages, momentum began to shift.

Denver showcased their offensive capabilities by accumulating an impressive total rebound count of 52 and scoring heavily from inside the paint with 66 points. Their shooting accuracy from two-point range was notable as well, hitting 63 percent of those attempts. The team's bench contributed a solid 27 points to their overall tally.

Despite these strong performances on offense, it was on defense where struggles became apparent for Denver. The Magic managed to capitalize on fast break opportunities scoring 21 fast break points and demonstrated precision from beyond the arc with a three-point shooting percentage rounding up to nearly half their attempts made.

A pivotal moment came when Orlando surged in the third quarter racking up an astonishing 41 points which significantly cut into Denver's lead. This surge proved too much for Denver to counteract despite having led for over half an hour during regulation time.

Orlando's balanced attack saw them drawing fouls effectively throughout play resulting in numerous free throw opportunities; they attempted more than twice as many free throws as Denver did during this contest.

Looking ahead after this narrow defeat, fans can find solace knowing that another opportunity awaits just around the corner for redemption. The next challenge will be against Detroit Pistons at Ball Arena located in Denver on January 7th at 6:00 PM local time (Mountain Time).
