Rebounding played a crucial role in this matchup as well; Denver outrebounded Los Angeles by ten boards overall (55 to 45), including securing more offensive rebounds (14 compared to eight), which translated into more second-chance opportunities and points (19). This dominance on glass also contributed to their largest lead being an imposing fifteen-point margin.

Defensively, while both teams had similar effectiveness ratings around mid-hundreds and managed only modest steal and block numbers – four steals and three blocks for Denver versus eight steals and two blocks for Los Angeles – it was ultimately Denver’s ability to maintain control throughout that proved decisive.
