Offensively for Detroit, there was some success from within paint where they scored 52 points and showed efficiency with their two-point attempts making over half at approximately fifty-six percent accuracy. They also took advantage of turnovers scoring fourteen points off them. However, struggles were evident from beyond the arc where only nine out of thirty-six three-point attempts found their mark resulting in twenty-five percent shooting from deep.

On defense, however, challenges persisted for Detroit as they recorded only two blocks compared to six by New York and allowed fifty-eight points in paint against them. Additionally, despite grabbing sixty rebounds including thirteen offensive boards which led to eighteen second-chance points; these efforts were overshadowed by allowing one hundred thirty opponent's points overall.
