In an intense matchup at Little Caesars Arena, the Pistons demonstrated resilience and offensive efficiency. Both teams entered bonus territory, but it was Detroit's ability to capitalize on their scoring opportunities that made the difference. The home team shot an impressive 50 percent from the field and matched the Hornets' three-point shooting accuracy at 40 percent. Despite both teams making 15 shots from beyond the arc, it was Detroit's superior two-point shooting (58 percent) that gave them an edge.

The Pistons also dominated in points in the paint with a total of 54 compared to Charlotte's 40. This inside presence was crucial for Detroit as they converted on a higher percentage of their paint attempts (63 percent). Additionally, both teams had identical numbers for turnovers (11) and steals (4 for Detroit; 5 for Charlotte), showing tight competition on defense.

Bench production played a significant role in this game as well; Detroit’s bench outscored Charlotte’s by nearly double with an impressive tally of 39 points to their opponent's 20. This depth proved vital down the stretch as fatigue set in.

Rebounding was another area where both teams showed parity; each grabbed a total of 52 rebounds. However, it was how each team utilized these chances that mattered – while Charlotte managed only nine offensive rebounds leading to ten second-chance points, Detroit capitalized better with five offensive boards resulting in twelve crucial second-chance points.

As time wound down and pressure mounted, both sides displayed moments of brilliance but ultimately it was the Pistons who maintained composure when it counted most – holding onto their lead through strategic playmaking and solid execution on offense.

Looking ahead after this morale-boosting win for The Motor City squad, fans can catch their next game against Washington Wizards right here at Little Caesars Arena on January 27th at noon local time. The match will be broadcasted live on BSDET channel number six hundred sixty-three or MNMT channel number six hundred forty-two for those following from afar.
