In their last game on February 28 against the Chicago Bulls, DET showed signs of life with a solid victory of 105-95. Despite a season riddled with defeats, this win highlighted some key strengths: an impressive field goal percentage of 49 percent and three-point shooting at 38 percent. Notably, they dominated in points in paint with an astounding 70 percent conversion rate and outrebounded their opponents by six.

The bench contributed significantly with 26 points, showcasing depth that could be pivotal against DAL. Moreover, DET's defensive efforts were commendable; they held CHI to just seven fast break points while posting eight blocks themselves.

However, consistency has been an issue for DET this season. In another recent game on February 27 against the New York Knicks – which ended in a narrow loss (111-113) – turnovers were problematic as they gave up possession 17 times. Yet again though, shooting was strong: field goals stood at 48 percent and free throws at an impressive rate of 81 percent.

Against Orlando Magic on February 25th in Detroit's own arena – despite losing by just three points (109-112) – there were flashes of brilliance from both starters and bench players alike; fast break points tallied up to eighteen while assists totaled twenty-nine indicating good ball movement.

Looking ahead to March ninth's clash with DAL will require DET to leverage these moments of excellence while tightening up defensively and maintaining control over turnovers if they hope for success. The Mavericks bring their own set of challenges; however focusing on what has worked well recently could give DET an edge before its passionate home crowd.

Fans can catch all the action live from Little Caesars Arena or tune into BSDET or BSSW networks when tip-off commences promptly at seven o'clock PM Eastern Time on March ninth.
