First quarter

The Pistons opened with 32 points and matched the Wizards at 32 as the game produced 8 ties and 5 lead changes. Detroit leaned on interior work early with a share of its 68 points in the paint, while Washington answered from deep on the way to 37 three-point attempts.

Second quarter

The Pistons took control with a 31-25 quarter that pushed the halftime margin in Detroit’s favor. Detroit’s offense created 25 points off turnovers and finished possessions with 16 offensive rebounds, while Washington carried 20 assists for the night but trailed in the bench scoring battle that ended 62-35.

Third quarter

The Pistons delivered their biggest swing with a 37-26 quarter, stretching their biggest lead to 22 behind a 51 field goal percent team mark and 41 three-point percent on 27 attempts. Jalen Duren’s previous-game line of 36 points and 12 rebounds illustrated the kind of interior pressure Detroit leaned on again, and Tobias Harris’ previous-game 6 assists fit a night where the Pistons posted a 2.58 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Fourth quarter

The Wizards won the fourth 34-30 as they finished at 43 three-point percent and 61 true shooting percent, but Detroit’s 84 free throw percent on 32 attempts helped hold the edge. Detroit’s 16 fast-break points on 86 fast-break percent added separation, and Washington’s 14 turnovers left the Wiz chasing in the closing stretch, forming the core of the Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards highlights and the Detroit Pistons vs Washington Wizards scoreline review.
