In their last outing against the Dallas Mavericks, despite a strong bench contribution of 49 points and outrebounding their opponents with 51 boards, Houston fell short with a final score of 107-125. Their field goal percentage was just 42 percent compared to Dallas' impressive 52 percent. The defensive end also raised concerns as they allowed Dallas to shoot over fifty percent from beyond the arc.

The previous game saw a narrow victory over Utah Jazz with a one-point margin (101-100), where they managed to secure more rebounds (55) and had fewer turnovers (10). However, shooting remained an issue as they only hit 38 percent from the field.

A thrilling overtime win against Oklahoma City Thunder showcased Houston's offensive capabilities with a high-scoring affair ending at 132-126. The team's field goal percentage improved significantly to 48 percent while also maintaining strong rebounding performance with 57 total rebounds.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for redemption and consistency for Houston. With home-court advantage at Toyota Center, where crowd support has historically played into their hands, it will be interesting to see if they can capitalize on this edge.

Defensively, limiting opponent shooting percentages will be crucial for success. Offensively, improving shot selection and efficiency could be key factors that determine whether or not they can overcome Miami's challenge.
