First Quarter

The opening quarter saw a strong start from Rip City, who managed to outscore H-Town by 3 points, ending it at 25-22. The Rockets struggled with their shooting accuracy early on, hitting only 37 percent of their field goals throughout the game.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Portland extended its lead by scoring an impressive 32 points compared to Houston's 25. Despite Kevin Durant's absence due to personal reasons, Amen Thompson stepped up for Red Nation with his all-around performance contributing significantly in rebounds and assists.

Third Quarter

The third quarter witnessed a resurgence from H-Town as they narrowed down Rip City's lead by scoring 28 points against Portland's 24. Jabari Smith Jr.'s defensive efforts were notable during this period as he contributed crucial steals that kept Houston in contention.

Fourth Quarter

Heading into the final stretch of play, both teams were neck-and-neck until Rip City managed a pivotal play that turned things around in their favor. The Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers turning point came when Steven Adams made key defensive stops but ultimately couldn't secure enough momentum for Red Nation.

Despite Alperen Sengun’s commendable performance under pressure and Clint Capela’s presence in rebounds and blocks, what went wrong for Houston Rockets was their inability to capitalize on fast-break opportunities effectively—converting only four out of nine attempts throughout this matchup.
