Clippers' Rally Falls Short Against Pelicans at Smoothie King Center

The LA Clippers, with a record of 35-30, faced off against the New Orleans Pelicans, standing at 18-48, in a closely contested game that ended with the Clippers scoring 120 points to the Pelicans' 127. Despite a strong effort from both teams, it was the Pelicans who emerged victorious in this matchup.

Key Performances and Game Dynamics


The Clippers showcased their offensive capabilities throughout the game, particularly in the third quarter where they scored an impressive 39 points. However, their defense struggled to contain the Pelicans' attack which was evident as they allowed 127 points against them. The Clippers were efficient from two-point range, hitting 64 percent of their shots and also excelled in fast break situations by converting 60 percent of their attempts into points.


Kawhi Leonard led the charge for the Clippers with an outstanding performance by scoring 29 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Ivica Zubac also made significant contributions with a double-double consisting of 19 points and eleven rebounds while blocking four shots. James Harden facilitated for his team effectively by dishing out seventeen assists along with scoring twenty-five points.

On the other side, The New Orleans Pelicans capitalized on second-chance opportunities by converting them into twenty-three points thanks to their aggressive rebounding which saw them grab fifty-three boards over the course of the game. Their three-point shooting was particularly lethal as they hit fifty-five percent from beyond the arc.
