In their last meeting on April 19 at FedExForum, the Lakers fell short against the Grizzlies with a final score of 93-103. Despite putting up a valiant effort and leading for over two minutes, they couldn't maintain their momentum against Memphis's robust defense and efficient scoring. The Lakers' field goal percentage stood at 41 percent compared to the Grizzlies' slightly better 43 percent. However, it was their three-point shooting that truly suffered, hitting only 27 percent from beyond the arc.

Contrastingly, on April 16 in Game 1 of their series against Memphis, Los Angeles showcased what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders. They dominated with an impressive victory scoring 128 points while maintaining a field goal percentage of over half at 53 percent and sinking an outstanding 43 percent from three-point range.

The key takeaway from these games is inconsistency; however, there's an underlying potential that could explode if harnessed correctly. The bench has been notably effective for LAL as well; contributing significantly with bench points totaling up to nearly one-third of their overall points in both games mentioned.

Defensively speaking, LAL has had its ups and downs but managed to block more shots than MEM during these encounters which could prove crucial if they can replicate this defensive intensity.

The upcoming game will not just test LAL's ability to bounce back but also challenge them to find consistency in their performance – something that has eluded them thus far. With home-court advantage this time around and having demonstrated what they're capable of when things click into place as seen on April 16th against MEM – there is reason for optimism among fans.

However, it would be remiss not to acknowledge that MEM comes into this game with solid credentials too – sporting an efficient offense and having outscored LAL off turnovers previously suggests they'll be no pushover.
