The game was marked by several lead changes and ties, indicating how competitive it was from start to finish. The Lakers managed to outperform the Thunder in key aspects of the game. With an impressive display of teamwork, they racked up 30 assists compared to Oklahoma City's 23. This facilitated ball movement and created scoring opportunities that were crucial for their win.

Defensively, the Lakers also had an edge with nine blocks against six from their opponents. Their defensive efforts were further highlighted by limiting Oklahoma City to a field goal percentage of just 42 percent while themselves shooting an efficient 52 percent from the field.

The home team's dominance in paint was evident as they scored a remarkable 64 points compared to Oklahoma City's 44 points in that area. Dominating inside allowed them to maintain control throughout much of the game and contributed significantly to their seven-point winning margin.

Rebounding played a pivotal role as well; Los Angeles outrebounded Oklahoma City by seven, grabbing a total of 53 rebounds over Oklahoma City’s 46. This included both offensive and defensive boards where Los Angeles managed eight offensive rebounds contributing directly to second-chance points.

The bench also provided valuable contributions with both teams' reserves adding up equal bench points at twenty-eight each which shows depth in talent on both sides.
