The Lakers started strong, outscoring the Kings by a significant margin in the first quarter. However, as the game progressed, it became evident that maintaining this lead would be challenging. The home team's efforts were led by their impressive three-point shooting accuracy which stood at forty-seven percent and contributed to fifteen made shots from beyond the arc. Additionally, they excelled at free throws with an eighty-four percent success rate.

Despite these efforts and leading for over sixteen minutes of game time with their largest advantage being nineteen points, it was not enough to secure victory. The Lakers' bench struggled to make an impact on scoring compared to their counterparts from Sacramento who added fifty points to their total.

On defense, Los Angeles managed five blocks and four steals but ultimately could not contain Sacramento's offense which had a field goal percentage of fifty-six percent and scored seventy-six points in paint. The Kings also capitalized on fast-break opportunities scoring twenty-six fast-break points with sixty-one percent efficiency.

Sacramento's dominance was further highlighted by their thirty-two assists and only fourteen turnovers while maintaining possession for over thirty minutes during which they built up a twenty-two point lead—their biggest of the night.
