The Los Angeles team started off strong with an impressive first quarter, leading with 33 points against the Nuggets' 25. They maintained their offensive momentum into the second quarter by adding another 27 points to their tally. However, despite their early lead and having had control for over 22 minutes of game time, the Lakers struggled in the third quarter scoring only 18 points compared to Denver's commanding 32 points. The final period saw them score an additional 25 points but it wasn't enough to close the gap.

Star players from Los Angeles showcased remarkable efficiency throughout the game. The team shot at a solid rate from two-point range with a success rate of about 62 percent and were equally impressive from the free-throw line with around a near-perfect conversion rate of about 90 percent. Their efforts inside were notable as well; they scored more than half of their total points in paint.

Defensively, however, there was room for improvement as evidenced by allowing Denver to score over half of its total points in paint as well and conceding seven steals which contributed to eight Nugget's points off turnovers. Despite this defensive lapse, Los Angeles managed seven blocks and three steals themselves while drawing numerous fouls that led them to attempt nineteen free throws throughout the contest.

On Denver's side, they demonstrated why they are one of top teams this season with an efficient display across all quarters except for being outscored in first one. Their bench contributed significantly scoring seventeen bench points and overall team play resulted in twenty-seven assists which is five more than what Lakers managed.
