Grizzlies Set to Claw Back Against Raptors at FedExForum

As the Memphis Grizzlies prepare to host the Toronto Raptors at FedExForum, fans are eager for a glimpse of redemption after a series of challenging games. The upcoming clash scheduled for January 3rd is not just another game; it's an opportunity for the Grizzlies to prove their resilience and capability on the court.

The recent performance of the Grizzlies has been a rollercoaster ride, with moments of brilliance overshadowed by periods of inconsistency. In their last home game against San Antonio Spurs on January 3rd, MEM showcased their potential by securing a victory with 106 points against Spurs' 98. Their offensive strategy was effective, converting 60 percent from two-point range and maintaining an impressive free throw percentage at 80 percent. Moreover, they dominated time leading with over 39 minutes and achieved a significant lead of up to 18 points during the game.

However, this victory was sandwiched between losses that highlighted areas needing improvement. A concerning defeat came at home against Sacramento Kings on January 1st where MEM scored only 92 points to Kings' dominant performance of 123 points. The Grizzlies struggled particularly in field goal percentage (37 percent) and were outrebounded significantly – grabbing only one offensive rebound compared to Kings' nine.

Despite these setbacks, there's optimism in how MEM has shown sparks of excellence even in defeat. For instance, during their away game against LA Clippers on December 30th last year, they managed an efficient fast break attack with a conversion rate of nearly 78 percent and put up a respectable fight scoring over a hundred points (106), albeit in loss.

The key takeaway from these past performances is that when MEM plays cohesively as a unit—maximizing possessions and capitalizing on turnovers—they can be formidable opponents. They have demonstrated an ability to score efficiently inside the paint and from behind the arc when given space.

Looking ahead towards facing TOR at home presents both challenge and opportunity for MEM. The Raptors are known for their aggressive defense but also have vulnerabilities that can be exploited by disciplined playmaking and sharpshooting – areas where Memphis has shown competence.

In anticipation of this matchup, fans should expect Memphis Grizzlies to come out with determination—leaning into their strengths such as high-percentage shooting close to the basket while tightening up defense against fast breaks which proved costly in previous encounters.

The stage is set for what promises to be an enthralling encounter between two teams eager to assert themselves early in this new year calendar. Fans can catch all action live from FedExForum or tune into BSSE channel number 649 or TSN internationally on January third starting at seven o'clock PM Central Time Zone.
