Grizzlies and Thunder Set for a Showdown at the Heart of Memphis' FedExForum

As the Memphis Grizzlies prepare to host the Oklahoma City Thunder at FedExForum, fans can anticipate an intriguing matchup. The Grizzlies have had a challenging season thus far, with their recent games reflecting both resilience and areas for improvement.

In their last game against the Brooklyn Nets, the Grizzlies secured a win with 106 points over the Nets' 102. Their performance showcased a solid offensive rating of approximately 111 points per possession and an effective field goal percentage of 54 percent. The team's ability to capitalize on second-chance opportunities was evident as they scored 25 second-chance points with a high conversion rate of 69 percent from such plays.

However, consistency has been an issue for Memphis. In their overtime loss to Portland Trail Blazers just before that, they led for over half of regulation but couldn't close out the game, eventually falling by seven points in overtime despite having led by as much as eighteen during playtime. Their offensive production dipped to around 89 points per possession in this encounter.

The most concerning aspect came from another game against Portland where they were defeated soundly by thirty points. This highlighted defensive vulnerabilities as they allowed about 126 offensive points per possession to their opponents while only managing an offensive output rate close to 89 themselves.

As we look towards this upcoming clash with Oklahoma City Thunder on March 16th at FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee scheduled for broadcast at 7:00 PM local time on BSSE and BSOK networks, it is clear that maintaining strong defense while capitalizing on scoring opportunities will be key factors if Memphis wishes to come out victorious in front of their home crowd.
