The Bucks opened strong with an initial quarter lead but couldn't maintain their momentum against the Grizzlies' robust offense. Despite outrebounding their opponents with a total of 54 rebounds to Memphis's 45 and dominating points in the paint with an impressive tally of 60 points, Milwaukee fell short. The Bucks showcased efficient shooting inside the arc with a two-point field goal percentage of 67 and converted on fast break opportunities at an impressive rate of 83 percent.

Milwaukee's defense managed to block five shots and came away with ten steals but struggled to contain Memphis's sharpshooters who hit half their attempts from beyond the arc. The Bucks also had difficulty maintaining possession, turning over the ball fourteen times which led to sixteen points for Memphis.

Key players for Milwaukee contributed significantly; however, it wasn't enough to secure victory as they were out-assisted by Memphis who racked up thirty assists. Additionally, while both teams were aggressive in drawing fouls and getting to the line, free throw accuracy was more favorable for Milwaukee at a solid rate of 75 percent compared to Memphis's less effective rate.

Despite leading for over fifteen minutes during various stages of play and achieving their largest lead at eight points versus ten by Memphis, it was not sufficient as they trailed when it mattered most. The game saw numerous shifts in control indicated by seventeen lead changes and was tied ten times throughout its duration.
