The Timberwolves showcased their offensive capabilities by shooting an impressive 50 percent from the field and an exceptional 62 percent true shooting percentage. Their prowess from beyond the arc was also notable as they made 12 three-pointers at a rate of 35 percent. Inside, they were dominant, converting on a remarkable 65 percent of their attempts in the paint and totaling 48 points in that area.

Defensively, Minnesota stood tall with eight blocks and eight steals contributing to their efforts. They outrebounded the Lakers with a total of 52 rebounds—45 personal and seven team rebounds—which included securing seven offensive boards that led to crucial second-chance points. The bench played a significant role by adding an important contribution of 34 points to the team's victory.

Despite committing more turnovers than usual with a count of 19, which led to giving away twelve points off turnovers, Minnesota managed to maintain control for most of the game with over twenty-three minutes spent in lead positions.

On the other side, Los Angeles fought valiantly but fell just short. They recorded four blocks and twelve steals while also drawing more fouls than Minnesota which resulted in them attempting eight additional free throws. The Lakers' efficiency from fast-break opportunities was noteworthy as they scored eighteen fast-break points on fifty-four percent shooting.

The contest saw fourteen times tied and lead changes each, indicating how competitive this matchup was until its very last moments. Both teams were granted bonus situations due to fouls but managed not to foul out any player except one from Minnesota's side.
