The Timberwolves started on their home court at Target Center with high energy but found themselves trailing after the first quarter. The Pelicans established an early lead, ending the initial period ahead by three points. As play progressed, Minnesota struggled to contain New Orleans' offensive onslaught; by halftime, they had widened their deficit further.

Minnesota's performance was highlighted by their tenacity in drawing fouls and capitalizing on free throw opportunities with an impressive 82 percent completion rate from the line. Their efforts in fast break situations were notable as well, converting half of their attempts into points. However, despite these efforts and outscoring New Orleans in points off turnovers (13), they could not surmount the significant lead that had been built against them.

The Timberwolves showed resilience in the fourth quarter where they outscored their opponents significantly but it wasn't enough to overcome earlier setbacks. They demonstrated strength inside with 50 points scored in paint and fought hard on defense registering six blocks for the night. The team's bench contributed substantially as well adding 26 points to Minnesota's total score.

Key players for Minnesota displayed commendable performances; however, it was overshadowed by New Orleans' efficiency which stood at a remarkable level throughout four quarters of play. The Pelicans shot an outstanding 56 percent from field goal range and an even more impressive 88 percent from free throws while also dominating rebounds with a total of fifty compared to thirty-eight for Minnesota.

Looking forward to their next challenge, fans can catch the Minnesota Timberwolves as they visit Houston Rockets at Toyota Center on January 5th at 7:00 PM Central Time. This away game will be broadcasted on BSN channel number six hundred sixty-eight for those following from afar or Space City Home Network channel six hundred seventy-four for local viewers tuning in from Houston.
