The Minnesota Timberwolves started strong with a first-quarter performance of 29 points but were eclipsed by the Phoenix Suns' explosive 35 points. The second quarter saw the Timberwolves add another 25 points to their tally; however, they could not contain the Suns' formidable offense which put up an impressive 41 points. After halftime, both teams continued their scoring streaks with Minnesota netting 28 and Phoenix securing another robust addition of 34 points. In what became a challenging final quarter for Minnesota, they managed to score 33 points but were unable to close down on Phoenix's lead who added a further 23 points.

Minnesota's effort was highlighted by their commendable free throw accuracy at nearly perfect ninety-three percent and significant contributions from bench players who accounted for forty-six of their total one hundred fifteen points. They also dominated in second-chance opportunities scoring twenty-eight second-chance points from seventeen attempts which is approximately sixty-five percent success rate.

Despite these efforts, it was not enough as Phoenix boasted an even more impressive field goal percentage at sixty percent and three-point shooting at fifty-five percent accuracy. Their dominance was further reflected in leading for over forty-three minutes of game time and achieving their largest lead at twenty-eight compared to just three for Minnesota.

The Timberwolves showed resilience on defense with five blocks and eight steals but struggled against a potent Suns offense that managed one hundred thirty-three total rebounds including twenty-seven defensive boards contributing significantly towards their victory margin.
