The Minnesota Timberwolves demonstrated a robust performance on both ends of the court. They established an early dominance that set the tone for the rest of the game, leading for over 45 minutes and achieving their biggest lead of 26 points. Offensively, they were efficient from close range, converting 63 percent of their two-point attempts and scoring a notable 40 points in the paint.

Defensively, the Timberwolves were just as impressive. They limited Denver to shooting only 40 percent from the field and maintained a defensive rating of just over 98 points per hundred possessions. The team's ability to control both offensive (6) and defensive rebounds (33) played a significant role in maintaining their lead throughout.

Key players stepped up for Minnesota; they saw contributions across the board with six steals matching that of Denver's efforts. Their bench added an important 18 points to help secure this victory. Furthermore, they capitalized on turnovers by scoring 13 points off them while keeping their own turnovers to nine.

On Denver's side, despite being outplayed for most parts of this contest at Ball Arena before an attendance crowd numbering nearly twenty thousand fans, they showed resilience especially in the fourth quarter where they scored more than any other period at thirty-four points but it wasn't enough to overcome Minnesota's substantial lead built earlier in the game.
