The Timberwolves came into the game with a strong defensive mindset, which was evident from their impressive 11 blocks compared to just one from the Hawks. This defensive solidity helped them maintain a lead for 28:50 minutes of game time, while their opponents led for only 16:34 minutes. The largest lead held by Minnesota was an assertive 17 points, showcasing periods of dominance during the game.

Offensively, Minnesota's performance was bolstered by shooting an effective field goal percentage of 54 percent and converting on two-point attempts with a high success rate of 67 percent. They also capitalized on free throws, making 23 out of a total of 29 attempts which translated to an efficient free throw percentage of approximately 79 percent.

The bench played a crucial role in this tight contest as well; contributing a valuable total of 35 points to support the starting lineup. In terms of ball movement and creating opportunities for scoring, the Timberwolves excelled with a total assist count reaching up to an impressive number – they recorded an assist-turnover ratio that surpassed that exhibited by their counterparts.

On offense inside the paint, Minnesota proved dominant as well; they scored more than half their points (52) in this area and showed better accuracy than Atlanta when it came down to shots taken closer to basket – achieving around seventy percent accuracy on such shots.

Despite committing fewer turnovers than Atlanta (14), it was not all smooth sailing for Minnesota as they had less offensive rebounds (7) compared to Atlanta's nine. However, they managed more steals (8), which contributed significantly towards securing possession and disrupting Atlanta's flow during critical moments within match play.
