Timberwolves Dismantle Pelicans in High-Scoring Affair at Target Center

In a display of offensive firepower, the Minnesota Timberwolves secured a commanding victory over the New Orleans Pelicans with a final score of 134-93. This win improves the Timberwolves' record to 41-31, while the Pelicans fall further behind with a 19-52 standing. The game, held at Minneapolis' Target Center, showcased Minnesota's dominance from start to finish.

Minnesota's Offensive Onslaught


The Timberwolves were relentless in their attack, leading for 39 minutes and 11 seconds of the game and achieving their biggest lead of 43 points. Their offensive efficiency was off the charts with an overall field goal percentage of 54 percent, including an impressive 43 percent from beyond the arc. The team also excelled at free throws, making 95 percent of their attempts.


Key performances came from several players; Julius Randle led with an outstanding effort that included scoring 20 points and grabbing six rebounds. Rudy Gobert dominated both ends of the floor with his double-double performance: scoring 15 points and securing eleven rebounds while adding three steals to his stat line. Anthony Edwards contributed significantly as well, scoring another seventeen points along with five assists.

Pelicans Struggle to Keep Pace


On the other side, despite shooting at a respectable rate (50 percent from field goals), turnovers plagued New Orleans throughout the match—totaling twenty-six for them—which directly translated into thirty-seven points off turnovers for Minnesota. The Pelicans did manage to put up some resistance in paint battles but were ultimately outscored by Minnesota's fifty-four paint points against their thirty.
