Wolves Roar Back: Minnesota Timberwolves Eye Redemption Against Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center

First Quarter

In Game 1 on May 20th, despite leading by as much as 9 points in the first half, they ultimately succumbed to a fourth-quarter surge by OKC. The Wolves' inability to capitalize on fast break opportunities and their struggles with turnovers were glaring issues that need addressing. With only zero percent success in fast breaks during that game, it’s clear that converting these chances could be a game-changer.


Second Quarter


As we move into the second quarter analysis, it's important to highlight how critical bench contributions will be for Minnesota's success. In Game 2 on May 22nd against OKC, bench players contributed significantly fewer points compared to their opponents—35 points from Wolves' reserves versus OKC's more modest output of just over half of that amount.

Minnesota’s offensive strategy should focus heavily upon creating open looks through ball movement rather than settling contested shots which plagued them previously resulting low field goal percentages overall (41 percent).
