Timberwolves Tame Thunder with Offensive Surge at Target Center

First Quarter


The Timberwolves set the tone early in the first quarter with an impressive offensive display, scoring 34 points to OKC's 14. Anthony Edwards led the charge for Minnesota, contributing significantly to their early lead. His dynamic playmaking and scoring ability were on full display as he navigated through OKC's defense with ease. The Wolves' defensive efforts also stifled Oklahoma City's attempts to gain momentum, limiting their scoring opportunities effectively.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, Minnesota continued to build on their lead by adding another 38 points to their tally while holding OKC to just 27 points. Julius Randle was instrumental during this period, showcasing his versatility and skill both inside and outside of the paint. His contributions helped maintain Minnesota's dominance on both ends of the court. Meanwhile, Nickeil Alexander-Walker provided valuable support off the bench with his efficient shooting and defensive presence.

Third Quarter


As play resumed after halftime, Minnesota maintained its aggressive approach in the third quarter by putting up another strong performance with 35 points compared to Oklahoma City's 29. The Wolves' bench depth came into play as they outscored OKC’s reserves significantly throughout this period—highlighting players like Naz Reid who made impactful plays that kept momentum firmly on Minnesota’s side.


Fourth Quarter


Entering into what would be an explosive fourth quarter for both teams; however it was clear that any hopes for an OKC comeback were dashed when Edwards once again took center stage alongside teammates such as Rudy Gobert whose defensive efforts thwarted multiple attempts from Thundercats trying desperately claw back some ground before time ran out completely sealing fate already decided earlier quarters ending final scoreline favorably towards home team: Timberwolves -143 vs Thunder -101
