Did the Minnesota Timberwolves' Late Surge Against Oklahoma City Thunder Fall Short at Target Center?

In a tightly contested playoff game, the Minnesota Timberwolves faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center. The Wolves ended with a 49-33 record, while OKC boasted a 68-14 record. Despite an impressive fourth-quarter rally, where they scored 41 points compared to OKC's 38, the Timberwolves fell short with a final score of 128-126.

First Quarter


The opening quarter saw the Thunder take an early lead, scoring 37 points against the Wolves' 30. The Twolves struggled to contain OKC's offensive prowess as they capitalized on their fast break opportunities and effective shooting from beyond the arc. The Wolves managed to keep pace thanks to Jaden McDaniels' defensive efforts and Anthony Edwards' contributions on offense.


Second Quarter


In the second quarter, both teams displayed strong defensive plays. The Thunder maintained their momentum by adding another 28 points to their tally while limiting Minnesota to just one point less in this period. Donte DiVincenzo emerged as a key player for Minnesota with his efficient shooting and playmaking abilities that kept them within striking distance.

Third Quarter


As halftime adjustments came into play in the third quarter, both teams continued their battle for dominance on court. The Wolves managed to outscore OKC by three points during this period (28-25), showcasing improved teamwork and ball movement led by Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s six assists throughout various stages of gameplay which helped create open shots for teammates like Rudy Gobert who contributed significantly under pressure situations near basket area despite facing tough defense from opponents’ side consistently throughout match duration overall too!


Fourth Quarter
